Career and Work Skills Training classes combine virtual classroom teaching styles with hands-on skills.

Senior students can complete in CWST through passing the 4 main classes:

  • Career & Work Skills Training I

  • Career & Work Skills Training II

  • Career & Work Skills Experience I

  • Career & Work Skills Experience II

Simulated Workplace

CWST provides flexibility to our students during their senior year that allows them to maintain a job while completing classes required for graduation.

Students are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school year while maintaining school work.

Business Opportunities

We are looking for opportunities every year to place some of our students in local businesses to work during school hours. Any business willing to become part of this program, please contact the school for more information.

Instructor

Mrs. Christy Turner

A 1996 Graduate of Lewis County High School, who attended Marshall University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. She returned home and began a 20+ long career in Corporate Accounting, while working she returned to school at West Virginia Wesleyan College where she completed the Masters of Business Administration program.

During her career she performed many duties in the Accounting and Business industry that prepared her to start teaching Business. Teaching is one of the most rewarding careers she has had.

She married John Turner, LCHS Alumni 1996 and they have two daughters; Mary, LCHS Alumni 2022, and Elisa, still currently attending school.
